For my personally and my Professional goals I would say mainly I have none. I never had any goals since grade four because I pretty much gave up on life. My only goal is to graduate because no one else in my family has graduated and I don’t want to suffer like my grandma who has to clean up people mess everyday because people like to pee all over the toilet seats and be disgusting pigs or like to leave and toss there food all over the place.(Grandma is a cleaning lady that works in the cafeteria in the Outlet Mall)Also she has to do this on swollen knees and it doesn’t even help that she’s really over weight...In about 5 years from now I expect to work in a job that works with small children, animals, or plants because I can`t stand adults or teenagers. In the future I will not have a family or be in any relationships all I need is an animal to keep me happy. For me to achieve this goal I just need is to read what I have to study to graduate high school and college so I can get a job that pays well so I can buy a house so me and my dad and grandma can live together. Personal I would prefer a job working with small children because I have more of a bond between them because they were my only friends when people my age rejected me. Reading will be a big part on my study and is one of things in enjoy doing on my free time so don’t expect me to stop reading for many years.

A book that I couldn’t put down was called The Giver. I couldn`t stop reading it because i wanted to know how it ended and each chapter made me want to read more to see what would happen. This book makes us see what would happen if society was perfect and if everything was a perfect organized system. This book made me see that its better if our lives are not perfect and we have complete free lives. I mean it would suck to have one job for the rest of your life and get matched with a wife that seems compatible. In this society there’s no such thing as love and no such thing as true emotions. I don`t know why I like this book so much I just love the whole plot of it. My grade eight class read this together but I read it all in about an hour and a half because I loved it so much. The result from me reading this book was that I now read a lot more then I did in the past and now all I ask for on Christmas and my birthday is just a bunch of books. I enjoy books that are about corrupted governments or leadership like The giver, Animal Farm, Hunger Games, etc. I say the government is corrupted because they took away seasons, colour, music, memories, love, beauty, change, emotions, and choices. This book gets even better when the main character Jonas starts to realize how evil the community is and how much of a zombie everyone is. The part that is really disturbing is when Jonas realizes that being releases means getting a needle and you die. If you’re a certain age they kill you and if you are born a twin or have abnormal problems your also killed. If you do something against the rules they also immediately kill you. No such thing as prisons in this story. I could feel Jonas`s disgust and horror when he watched his dad kill a baby by injecting a needle through its forehead and watched as the medicine went limp they he just shoved the baby in a cardboard box and dropped it down a chute and just leave like nothing happen and he does the whole thing with a smile on his face. Poor baby had to die just because he was a twin. The main reason i love these books because there so dark and cruel. I love books that are sinister yet there disguised to seem like everything is well.

The Lightning Thief
1. The author is Rick Riordan and he was born in June 5, 1964.Riordan had taught Greek myths at the middle school level for many years..Rick Riordan helped create the entire 39 Clues series also he is already an award winning author of mysteries for adults.Rick making Percy ADHD and dyslexic was his way of honoring the potential of all the kids he knew who has those conditions.
2. Percy Jackson-The story is told from his point of view and hes a dynamic character over time time he becomes smarter and wiser on his journey to retrieve and deliver the lightning bolt to Mount Olympus. He is stubborn and shares the same characteristics as his father Poseidon(always putting others before himself is his fatal flaw, black hair, sea coloured eyes, thinks Annabeth can be a pain
Annabeth Chase-Percy's friend she is the same throughout the book and she tends to be like her mother Athena goddess of battle and wisdom.(smart, know it all, Rivals with Percy because Athena and Poseidon are rivals and don't like each other, likes architecture, blond hair, grey eyes, scared of spiders because of Arachnids story,Annebeth's fatal flaw is her pride.)
Grover Underwood-A satyr that is Percy's friend and keeper from the beginning of the story. Grover wants a searchers license so he can start his dream job witch is to search for Pan the god of the wilderness.Since he went missing about 2 thousand years ago. I believe that later in the book Grover slowly gets more courageous(like with Medusa and in Hades palace). He tend to be nervous and loves to a lot (except meat.) He hates underground places and is always in the middle of things. Hes very kind and always breaks up the fights of Percy and Annebeth(but it usually doesn't work.)
3. The setting of "The Lightning Thief" takes place in modern times but with some Greek mythology in the background. (The Underworld, Mount Olympus) I believe the theme of this book would definitely be an adventure story.
4. When Percy Jackson is down in the underworld confronting Hades of stealing Zeus's lighting bolt, but then Hades tells Percy he is the one who has the lighting bolt.Percy then checks his backpack and there is the lightning bolt of Zeus. That's when the climax begins when Percy realizes that he has been tricked. Ares the god of war set him up but the main culprit is Kronus who is trying to resurrect him self because Zeus cut him up into a million pieces and Hades accuses Percy of taking his helm of darkness. Basically from this main event is where most of the climax begins.
5.I would like to read more books by this author because his books have Greek mythology and i adore Greek mythology. I also like his books because i can understand easily what is happening in the story and painting a picture is no problem. I personally like Rick's view on Greek mythology and how he made into an excellent story for kids.

Lieracy test
1. My strongest strategies are highlighting important informationg(I'm really good at that it really helps) When im confused by a sentence i just try to put it into my own words and face it theres alot of words that you wont know.I personally like to skim for information then i would read it closley. My weak strategies are asking myself questions about the reading not to mention that i have trouble relationg it to my own personal experiences.
My strongest strategies for newsreports are look closely at the headline and picture. Thinkof an event that relates to them. Make up the information and facts as you answer some or all of the following questions:Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? For series of paragraphs I'm good at stating my opinion at the beggining and I always have three or more paragraphs with a intruduction middle and my conclusion. For short writing task i'm good at rereading the questions over and over then i awsner them and always use deatail. I love multiple choice so it only makes sence that im good at it here are some of my strategies: First i look at the four awnsers and i'll cross out any that are inncorrect whitch i suggest everyone should do, If later on you find thats its inncorrect just go back and correct it.Oh and never, never, never, never, never EVER leave blanks just gess you might get it right! Some of my weaknesses are connecting the story to my personal experiences also once and a while i forget to space my paragraphs but i only do that rarley.Sometimes when i'm trying to the main idea i can get stumped pretty easily.

I really like how the litericy test is not a part of our course marks because i would be really worried. Personally i really hate the thought of redoing the test the folloing year i rather u just redo it whenever as long as its before graduation. I think its very helpful that now i know that universities and colleges will see that i completed it.
I really would like to know what exactly would be on the literacy test would it be on everything we learned in grade nine? In your opinion do you think i would do good on the literacy test.

Third Man Theory
Many people, both religious and atheist, report being helped to survive near death experiences by an unknown presence.Spiritual or religious people say that a divine being saved them from a near death experience while atheist see it as a brain function. Some psychologists believe the phenomenon is a product of bicameralism. Another theory suggests the third man is a coping mechanism. Whether the third man is an angel or a survival mechanism is for people to decide for them selves. The third man helped James Sevigny after a avalanche swept him 600 m down the canadian rockies. The third man helped again when Ron DiFrancesco was trapped in a fire.

Using Appositives
Hi Sam,
Yesterday we learned a new way to combine short simple sentences in order to make longer more effective ones.
The method we used was something called "Apposition" which is a fancy way of saying 'beside.' So instead of writing: "Our teacher is Mr. Pierce. He has taught the class a new lesson on appositives" we write "Our teacher, Mr.Pierce, has taught the class a new lesson on appositives."
'Mr. Pierce' is beside (or apposite) 'Our teacher' which means they are the same thing. This can be really handy when you are reading if you realize that a phrase you don't know is apposite a word or phrase you do know.
The following examples use apposition:
1. My friend, Autumn, went to Tim Horton's with me to get some coffee.
2. Today, December 6th, we had snow.
3. My friend, Katrina McIntosh, has known me since I was 3.
5. On Sunday, December 5th, 2010, my brother, Ben, came and visited me.
Another example I used was: Stamford has won Schools In Bloom, a horticulture competition, seven years in a row.
Once you feel comfortable that you know what I'm looking for, please try writing 5 to 10 appositives of your own.
